I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing better than waking up and making a fresh juice! It gives me all the energy I need to have an incredibly productive day. Besides that, there are so many health benefits that come from juicing such as: boosting your immune system, reducing your risk of getting cancer, and helping with digestion + weight loss. If you’re wondering how, it’s because juicing is a quick & easy way to get nutrition into your body & eat enough vegetables. So let’s make getting nutrients in our body easy & quick by picking the right juicer in order to feel better and live better!

But…which juicer should I get and what should I look out for prior to buying one? Well, the first thing you should know is that there are four kinds of juicers: centrifugal juicers, slow juicers, and triturating juicers, & citrus juicers.

Centrifugal Juicers

These are fast juicers & they are your cheaper option. They have spinning cutting blades that spin against a mesh chamber, separating the juice from the pulp, at a centrifugal speed. They’re great for fruits and vegetables.

Pros: fast, don’t require much prep or cleaning, affordable

Cons: make a lot of noise, juice quality could potentially be affected by heat

Masticating Juicers or Slow Juicers

This juicer uses an auger to crush ingredients as they pass through the chute. The juice is later squeezed out through a strainer, while the pulp is pushed through a different container.

Pros: good juice quality, high yield, multiple food processing function, accommodates both hard & soft materials
Cons: Pricey, requires longer prep & cleaning time, produce is crushed at a slow speed

Triturating Juicers or Twin-Gear Juicers

This juicer has two gears, where both gears rotate to crush the produce and extract the juice, while pushing out the pulp.

Pros: high quality & yield, accommodates both hard and soft materials, offers multiple food processing options
Cons: Pricey, requires longer prep & cleaning time

Citrus Juicers

These are by far the easiest juicers to use, but mainly because they’re limited and can only be used for citrus. Different from centrifugal and masticating juicers, citrus juicers require minimal effort. You don’t have to peel or remove the seeds from any of your produce.

Pros: quick & easy to use, light prep work

Cons: Limited, can only be used to make citrus
