Are you looking to take your wine game to the next level? It’s time to buy a wine cooler. Check out our guide on this year’s best wine coolers and fridges, according to the experts.
Anyone could have a good collection of wine. But not everyone knows how to store & preserve the bottles properly.
If you are serious about wine, like me, you need a wine fridge. Not only do wine coolers display your wines in a sophisticated way, but they also keep the bottles at the perfect temperature. Your guests will be easily impressed by how much you care for your wine collection & may even possibly call you a sommelier in the making.
What temperatures should you keep your wines?
The ideal temperature for wine storage is usually around 55ºF (13ºC). However, this does vary from wine to wine. You can ask the wine manufacturer that you bought your wines from for their take.
Never store wine below 25 °F (-4ºC) or above 68°F (20°C). Messing with the temperatures can cause the wine to freeze or accelerate the aging process and break up volatile compounds.
Most importantly, store the bottles horizontally & do not fluctuate the temperatures. Keeping the temperature stable ensures that the wine doesn’t accidentally seep from the expanding and contracting corks.
Open bottles of wine usually last 3-5 days, but I’m sure we can all make them last a little longer if needed. We’re living in some pretty rough and weird times… drink the wine.
