Meg's July Must-Haves

Each month, the editor at Impress the Guest shares with you unique items that have saved her time, stress, and energy when it comes to home decor and overall wellness. Focusing on bettering herself, she constantly searches for products that improve her life. She wants to share with you what has worked, why, and how it can better your lives too. Meet her every month for all things personal and perhaps some over-shares that you probably can relate to.

Happy July! I hope you’ve all had an incredible summer and continue to spend every day under the sun. Another month has passed yet again and so much has happened/changed! Having the opportunity to write these monthly has made me significantly more optimistic about the future. I guess it’s the reflecting on the past and the uncertainty of the future that excites me for what’s to come. On another note, I hope you’re all practicing self-care and self-love on a daily basis. You know I always preach about how important this is, lolol. It’s always made a difference in my life and my goal here is to improve your lives, so I will never hold back on sharing what has worked for me! At the end of the day, the world is only as bad as you make it seem. Tell yourself that you’re worthy, capable, and intelligent enough to get through anything and believe it. You’ll see how much things start to quickly change.

Now for the tangible goods that have saved my life this month (and every month), I have shared the 5 products below as well as given you a little explanation as to why I swear by each.

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen

I know I always rave about this product but I just discovered a new way to use it and I am obsessed. Not only is this the best sunscreen I’ve ever used because it’s clear, quickly rubs in, and makes my skin feel moisturized…but! It also makes for a great primer. I started putting supergoop on before my foundation and it’s made all the difference in the world. My face looks flawless without looking cakey! And, now I really do have sunscreen on everywhere I go, therefore, a win-win!

Ouai Chill Pills

If you’ve read any of my previous monthly posts, you know I am bath fanatic. I take several baths a week and can confidently say I’ve got my bath products down to a tee, mainly because I’ve tried almost every product on the market. Out of all the bath bombs i’ve tried, nothing beats these chill pills! Granted, they aren’t colorful and wont change the color of your bath water, but they’ll have your skin feeling smooth and moisturized hours after you’ve finished taking your bath. Yup, you read that correctly! No need to moisturize after your bath, the chill pills have got you covered! Did I mention they smell amazing?

Diptyque Baies Candle

When I have trouble focusing, I always light a candle and stop everything I’m doing. It helps ground me and helps me gather my thoughts. This is my favorite scent, hence why I’m recommending it. However, if this scent is not your favorite, I don’t recommend buying it. You should buy a scent you like! Diptyque has a wide variety of scents to choose from, or you can choose from a different candle brand. Some brands I’d recommend are: Le labo, Apotheke, and Baobab.

Glass Straws

This one’s random, I know… But if I’m adding it here, it’s because it improves my day to day living. I drink cold brew every morning and I couldn’t imagine doing so without a straw! Plus, I’ve read that drinking coffee out of straw as opposed to straight from the cup is better for maintaining your teeth color anyways! Beyond that, I like to drink my smoothies with a straw too. I find it much easier to make one purchase on reusable glass straws over several purchases on disposable glass straws. It’s also just an overall fancy feeling to drink out of a glass straw haha!

My latest hobby is painting! And no, I’m not an artist, it’s just something I do for fun. I also find it extremely therapeutic. If you’re having some friends over, this is the perfect activity! Try it and thank me later. 😉
