Each month, the editor at Impress the Guest shares with you unique items that have saved her time, stress, and energy when it comes to home decor and overall wellness. Focusing on bettering herself, she constantly searches for products that improve her life. She wants to share with you what has worked, why, and how it can better your lives too. Meet her every month for all things personal and perhaps some over-shares that you probably can relate to.
Summer is finally here! New York is slowly but surely reviving, the sun is shining, and the opportunities are endless! I’ve been feeling a positive shift in my mood since June has started and I’m praying it lasts, lolol. If you’ve ever read any of my monthly favorites (so grateful if you have), you know I use these to reflect on previous months while simultaneously acting as your personal motivational speaker. This month, I’ve spent a lot of time fixating on the future. Do I recommend doing this? No. Well…actually, moderately, yes. Planning and overthinking things you absolutely cannot control is pointless and causes a lot of unnecessary stress. However, that’s not to say that you should do nothing, as opportunities are obviously not going to fall onto your lap. Point is: you should think about your future and have an idea of what you want for it but not to the point where you get overwhelmed and anxious thinking about it. One thing I found successful for combating anxiety about the future: doing a task. Whether it’s as simple as making your bed or doing some laundry, you’ll instantly feel better. As for another thing I learned this past month, LET GO. I know this is easier said than done, but you seriously need to live your life. Do those last minute activities, go out if even doesn’t seem fun, see someone you haven’t seen in a while, meet new people, read a great book, etc. The list goes on and on…but if you’re anything like me, you only do what you planned on doing. This makes life somewhat boring. Do something you’d never do, go somewhere you thought you’d never enjoy, you’d be surprised at your change in mindset. As always, you spend your whole life inside your head, therefore you might as well try and make it a nice place to be.
If you’ve made it this far, it means you have enjoyed my spew and for that I am grateful! 🙂
And finally, my favorite décor products for the month:
