Can you believe tomorrow is April 1st?! Me either. Time is flying! Seems like just yesterday I was writing my first blog post ever, and now here we are, 141 posts later. What a journey it’s been 🙂 As always, if you keep up with our blog, you know I use these monthly posts as a little life update + as a spot to show you my favorite products for the month. Things have been going relatively well. I’ve spent a majority of my time learning, reading, taking courses, & enjoying life. The more time that passes, the more things seem to be falling into place. Some days are better than others, but I am grateful everyday. I hope that you are taking a lot time to yourself, learning more about yourself, taking care of yourself, & maintaining a stable + happy mental state. Although easier said than done, the products I’ve listed below have played a role in keeping me happy and motivated everyday. I hope they do the same for you, and I am happy to recommend more suggestions if you’re interested. My email is in my about page. Please don’t hesitate to reach out, I would be honored to talk to you & give you recs. 🙂
Here are my product picks for this month:
Mind Hacking: How to Change Your Mind for Good in 21 Days by Sir John Hargrave
This is easily one of the best books I’ve read so far. The basic idea is the following: your reality is not what you see, it’s what you make of what you see. You & your brain are two separate entities. You are not your brain, therefore you can teach your brain to be a certain way. I highly recommend this book if you’re going through something you can’t stop thinking about, if you’re curious to understand the depths of your brain, and if you’re stuck in bad habits that you want to change. Some examples of bad habits are the following: a toxic relationship, a drug problem, an eating disorder, etc.
Ferm Living Ripple Carafe Set
There’s something that gets me going about aesthetically pleasing glassware. It makes me extra happy to drink my morning smoothie out of a visually appealing cup. Like the famous saying, it’s the little things.
Cast Iron Grill Pan
I stopped eating chicken & steak at home for quite a while because it stopped tasting good to me. Little did I realize I was using the wrong pan the whole time. I didn’t notice it then, but the lack of chicken & steak to my diet affected my mood in a negative way. I was always tired and never really felt fulfilled after a meal. Emmas mom came to stay with us last weekend and randomly ordered us this pan so I tried it out for the first time and WOW! The pan made all the difference. I didn’t season it differently or anything, it was just the way it cooked in this pan vs. the other one. Though this is a small fix, it has made a huge difference already! Highly recommend to all my frequent steak & chicken eaters.
I don’t want to say I just discovered hyaluronic acid, but it is the first time I’m making use of it and WOW. Skin care has never been my thing because everything I would try would give me pimples. But the other day, I was cleaning out my vanity & I stumbled upon this hyaluronic acid from a brand called Tru Skin. I don’t know anything about this brand but wow has my skin changed. My problem isn’t so much acne as it is discoloration. Some parts of my face are lighter and more red than others. This acid has helped me balance the discoloration & made my skin look more cohesive. I always top it off with a moisturizer & I do the routine right after I shower. This has been a game changer for my confidence, therefore I highly recommend.
Since the weather is warming up, the layers are lessening! I can finally wear just a long sleeve shirt & pants and BOOOOYYYY does it feel good. 🙂 Because it stays light out till 7:30 pm, I have much more time to go for a workout now. This has enhanced my mood in so many ways. Because my favorite form of exercise is running/walking in Central Park, I decided to splurge on some workout gear, some more expensive than others. You never know who you’re going to meet aka do your very best to make every outfit cute, including your workout outfit!! Sets are the easiest way to do so.
