Meg's September Favorites

Each month, the editor at Impress the Guest shares with you unique items that saved her time, stress, and energy when it comes to home decor and overall wellness. Focusing on bettering herself, she constantly searches for products that improve her life. She wants to share with you what has worked, why, and how it can better your lives too. Meet her every month for all things personal and perhaps some over-shares that you probably can relate to.

September is coming to an end – and before we know it, we’ll be ringing in the new year. We could either do one of two things: make the best out of the remaining months or keep on making excuses as to why we can’t get started. If you’re reading this, welcome back! I am grateful for you and hope that my monthly words of wisdom help to get you back on your feet. As you know, I come on here once a month to check in – tell you a bit about my month, about the ups and downs of life, and the reasons why you should keep going anyway. And of course, I simultaneously recommend wellness products that have gotten me through the month as well as home décor I keep an eye out for.

But my main goal with these monthly posts is to relate to you all. To let you know that you are not alone, and to remind you that what you’re feeling is normal. Nobody has great days every day and nobody is happy all of the time. Even the most successful people are still trying to figure it out. The key is to live intentionally. To set goals for yourself (realistic ones), to be in the moment, to take time for yourself and your needs, to not over extend yourself, and to work really, really hard. When I get overly stressed and start to feel hopeless, something I always ask myself is “what would you do if you weren’t afraid?” I think a lot of people (myself included), get clouded by fear. Whether it’s the fear of failure or fear of the unknown, staying comfortable is not going to help us excel. Learning to embrace failure has helped me get moving. How I learned to do this? I did something I was scared of. I went out of my way to put myself in a situation I knew would make me uncomfortable. My goal? to make myself think and feel differently.

So, do that scary thing! Go out there today and do something that you know absolutely freaks you out. I promise you won’t regret it. And don’t forget, if it makes you uncomfortable, it’s working. Be optimistic and positive, and watch how doors start to open for you!

Without further ado, here are the decor items I’ve kept an eye out for this month:
