The 10 Best Home Decor Stores in NYC

Whether it’s food, clothing, furniture, decor, home goods, art, accessories, etc., New York has got it all. But having so many options can sometimes be overwhelming. For example, what stores sell what? What is the best store for something particular, like fine china?  Where should you avoid going? 

The truth is, you wouldn’t know unless you took some time to do your research which is what I’m here for!

I’ve made a mini guide for you guys below of the 10 best home decor stores in NYC according the interior design/decorator experts.

1. ABC Carpet & Home

For all things interior design, you must check out ABC Carpet & home. With 6 floors dedicated to core elements in design such as lighting, furniture, accessories, kitchen & more, it’s quite difficult to not be inspired. Plus, the store is set up in an extremely visually pleasing way, making the experience all the more unique. It’s like going to a museum to shop for your home.

2. MOMA Design Store

Besides getting to experience the awesome museum that is the MOMA, the gift shop is just as impressive. With two locations, one in SoHo and another across from the museum in midtown, the store sells original pieces made by famous artists as well as unique works that were inspired from pieces in the museum.

3. Bergdorf Goodman

For those that don’t know, there’s much more to do at BG than shop & eat. Located on the 7th floor is a space devoted to all things home. Between unique collaborations, high end brands, low key artisans & more, you will not be disappointed. And if you think you’ve seen incredibly curated places, just wait until you see BG.

4. France & Son

If minimalism or maximalism are your thing, you have to check out France & son. Located in the heart of Chelsea, this store will make you want to redecorate your entire home. If you don’t walk out having purchased something, I guarantee you will have at least gained an experience and educated your eye.

5. Herman Miller

For all things mid-century, Herman Miller is your place. With 7 seven floors of furniture, textiles, decor & more, your eyes will have a ball.

6. The Future Perfect

Unlike the stores I’ve mentioned above, rather than having multiple floors of showrooms & offering you a variety of home related products, this is a space where emerging designers showcase their one of kind unique & functional pieces. For those curious about design and the intricacies of it, you must check out the future perfect.

7. Rejuvination

For all my lighting and furniture connoisseurs, rejuvenation’s showrooms are it! Located in the flatiron district, it’s a perfect spot to stop into after you’ve grabbed a bite at the famous eataly!

8. Matter

For my contemporary lovers, matter is for you. It is known as “an exhibition at the intersection of design and craftsmanship.” It is not only a space to find unique and beautiful decor, but also a space to gain inspiration and discuss all things design. I especially love Matter because I am a big fan of Sabine Marcelis, who sells some of his famous works there.

9. Jung Lee

If you can imagine a party planners many ideas mashed into a store, it’s the Jung Lee store. She is an over the top party planner who is here to bring all your home related dreams to life. Try not to get overwhelmed with her unique items & store curation.

10. Pirch

A three floor top of the line appliance store that lets you try things before you buy them. Now where else could you do that? Yep, I couldn’t think of another place either.
