Are you feeling a little bit stuffy? Under the weather? Corona bringing you down? Get ready for your health, mood, and energy to improve significantly with these great essential oil diffusers.
This pandemic and working from home has really brought me and all the invisible toxins in this apartment really close together.
Luckily, there are little things we can do to improve our quality of life as we sit and hope for the world to magically cure itself.
The air you breathe contributes to your mood and health significantly, for starters. I can immediately feel when a room is dirty just from one little whiff. Maybe that’s the OCD in me. However, there is a lot of science to back this up. If you are breathing in dust and dirt all the time, that is what your lungs will have to deal with. If you breathe in essential oils, your lungs will do a happy dance. You are what you breathe.
So why not make our homes a happy zen sanctuary? And by our homes, I mean our literal homes and our bodies. Your body is a temple, and the more you treat it as such, the better you will feel overall.
What are essential oils?
Essential oils are plant extracts used since the beginning of time to cure countless ailments and improve health and quality of life. The extracts are steamed/pressed into compounds that then produce fragrance. But these oils are not just for the smell!
These oils are scientifically proven to help alleviate:
Plus many more common symptoms we experience daily.
How Do They Work?
Essential oils, when inhaled, travel to the brain via nerves to produce an overall calming effect. I recently learned that these oils primarily affect the amygdala, our emotional processing center of the brain. Meaning, our emotions are greatly influenced by these oils for the better to improve our mood and stabilize our emotions. Who doesn’t love a little break from our emotions controlling us?
Uses & Warning
To use, simply put a few drops of the oil in the water tank of your diffuser & allow your nose to do the rest!
You can also apply certain oils to your skin, make necklaces out of them, or add them to your baths and cleaning products. But for this blog post’s purpose, we are sticking to the diffuser route.
Although most essential oils promise significant benefits, a small number of people can react differently than the intended effects. Some people develop allergic reactions and other bodily irritations. Unfortunately, many essential oils are not regulated and can be diluted to the point where it’s no longer benefiting anyone. Some oils work differently depending on many factors, IE gender, skin type, and much more. Make sure to do your research before buying new oil, and use a trusted company, even if it means spending a little more than you usually would.
According to experts, the best quality essential oils to look into are from brands that label the bottle or companies website that it’s considered safe for internal consumption.
