Types of Door Handles

Privacy door knobs: Knobs that have a pin hole on the outside and push button on the inside. Most commonly used in rooms that require privacy such as the bedroom or bathroom doors.
Keyed door knobs: Knobs that come with a key entry on them. The other side normally has a push button on it. Most commonly used as exterior knobs (entrance, garage doors)
Keyed door levers: Levers that come with a key entry on them. The other side normally has a push button on it. Most commonly used as exterior knobs (entrance, garage doors)
Dummy door knobs: One sided and cannot lock. It lacks a key entry & has no working parts as well. Most commonly used on doors that don’t require a knob on both sides, like a closet door.
Passage door knobs: These kinds of knobs do not lock or have a key entry. Most commonly used in rooms that you wouldn’t want privacy in such as hallways, closets, laundry room doors, etc.
